Hospitals in China for international patients

A working shortlist of public top-tier (Grade-A) hospitals across multiple cities — hospitals that routinely accept international patients, have international medical departments, and can review overseas records before you travel.

How to read this list. These 26 institutions are a network we work with and have genuinely sent patients to — not a directory compiled from public information. We are independent of every one of them: no hospital pays us for referrals, and whether a case is accepted is always decided by the hospital and its physicians. We obtain the hospital's written confirmation before you fly.
What we screen for

Four things decide whether a hospital is right for you

Reputation alone is a poor matchmaker. A famous general hospital is not automatically the best place for a rare blood cancer, and a smaller specialist centre may operate on your condition every week while a larger one sees it twice a year.

🏅

Grade-A tertiary status

China's top tier (三级甲等) — teaching hospitals with the equipment, intensive care and case volume that complex treatment needs.

🌐

Real international service

An international medical department or ward that handles foreign passports, overseas insurance paperwork and English-language reports.

📈

Volume in your condition

Departments that treat your diagnosis weekly, not twice a year. Volume is the closest public proxy for surgical and clinical experience.

✉️

Records review before travel

Teams willing to read your imaging and pathology first and answer in writing — so you do not fly across the world on a guess.

A note on hospital names. Some hospitals in the network operate under more than one name (Guangzhou Fosun Chancheng, for example, is also known as Guangzhou Xinshi Hospital). Before booking we confirm the exact campus, department and physician, and we always forward the hospital's own written confirmation — never a screenshot from a booking app.

How we pick

How we match you to a hospital

Not rankings. Four questions, in this order.

1 — Does the subspecialty exist, and at volume?

A department that does your procedure hundreds of times a year beats a famous name that does it twice a month. Volume is where skill comes from — this is where we start.

2 — Does your case need depth or direction?

A clear diagnosis needs the right department. An unclear finding needs a pathology team and an MDT review. These are different hospitals — we route accordingly.

3 — What does the whole trip cost?

The same treatment can differ sharply between cities once the package price, accommodation and recovery stay are counted. We do that arithmetic first, then check how much direct insurance billing covers.

4 — Which city makes the trip easier?

Flight connections, S2 medical-visa paperwork, how long accompanying family can stay, and where you will recover — all of it shapes the city choice, and all of it is settled before anything is booked.

Tell us the diagnosis, and we will match the hospital

Send your reports and a short summary of what you have been told so far. We compare the 26-hospital network on subspecialty, volume and total cost, then come back with two or three realistic options — each with a written, itemized estimate.
